Eliminations will be announced on or about the 10th day of each month. In March 2011, after additional elimination rounds, we'll be down to 4 or 5 in each category. There will be one more superdelegate vote, and the percentages will be held until the "C3 at Sea" caucus cruise which is open to fans. (Fans can vote in the decade program but not the annual program.) Caucus-goers will split into 5 groups, each representing a different choice for the winner. Next, the lowest two groups will disassemble and find homes in the remaining 3 groups, which could change the front-runner. Finally, the superdelegate percentages from 6 months earlier will be revealed. The possibility exists that the superdelegates' first choice will have been eliminated by the caucus. Whatever the case, the relevant percentages from superdelegates will be weighted 2/5, and the percentages from the caucus will be weighted 3/5. In the tightest possible race where 51% of superdelegates choose one game and 51% of caucus-goers choose another, the caucus-goers have a slim advantage of about one-fifth of one percent after the weighted tally. (By contrast, superdelegates in the Democratic Party were weighted 1/5 but were concentrated among two candidates where it was mathematically possible to swing the result of a tight race.) The superdelegates' main power is at the beginning of the process. At the end of the process, their power is maintained only if they were able to concentrate their votes more than caucus-goers OR use the bully pulpit to sway them going into the cruise. Superdelegates are not required to caucus, but their votes are more powerful if they do. There will be a caucus for Game of the Decade. Which additional categories will be caucused will be announced. Any categories which are not caucused will be determined entirely by superdelegates.

Addendum: The final category for Game of the Decade has been extended.  Voting closes June 9 for the Game of the Decade category.  Eliminations in this final category will continue to be announced weekly on the social networks after voting closes.  The announcements will be staggered so that the final ten nominees are announced close to the cruise.  Nominees in all other decade categories are already available at navgtr.org
